A Year of Events for Everyone and Every Culture
Winter Events at Travisso
Lunar New Year
The University of Texas Dragon Lion Dance Team wowed the crowd with their vibrant performance while residents enjoyed cake and sweet treats to ring in the year of the dragon. Many dressed in red for luck, sharing in the festive spirit of this cherished tradition.
The party didn’t stop there—Travisso’s Young at Heart club, a social group for adults without kids at home, offered another chance to honor the year of the dragon with their own Chinese New Year event. Residents enjoyed a feast of good fortune while wishing health, happiness, and prosperity to friends and neighbors.
Black History Month
In February, we honored Black History Month with a vibrant Black-Owned Business Market at our Pavilion. Neighbors came together to enjoy live music by DJ Kenny Duet and support local businesses by shopping for handmade items, food, retail products, and services.
Spring Events at Travisso
Crescent Fest
Spring brought us Crescent Fest, a lively celebration held on the Palazzo Event Lawn. Residents of all ages enjoyed face painting, balloon twisting, delicious cupcakes, and the chance to connect with neighbors from across our community. It was a perfect way to welcome the season and celebrate the many cultures that make Travisso special.
Cinco de Mayo
The following month, the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta kept the energy alive, with everyone tapping their feet to live salsa tunes and savoring tacos packed with flavor. May continued with a celebration of Travisso’s Italian heritage with a unique painting class. Through art and music, participants were transported to the landscapes of Tuscany as they created stunning Tuscan-themed landscapes on canvas.
Summer Events at Travisso
School’s Out Foam Party
The 2024 School’s Out Foam Party was a bubbly blast for kids and families alike! Held at the event play fields, it featured mountains of foam, laughter, and plenty of fun to kick off summer break in style.
Travisso’s 10th Birthday
Travisso’s 10th Birthday in June, an evening filled with fun and festivities at the Palazzo Event Field. Residents enjoyed cupcakes and mini donuts, played laser tag, and got their faces painted. The event also featured whimsical balloon twisting and lively music, making it a birthday celebration to remember.
Freedom Fest
Freedom Fest brought the community together to celebrate the 4th of July. Guests enjoyed live music by ATX DeVille, indulged in snow cones, and cooled off in a foam pit. Water tag, face painting, balloons, food, drinks, and more rounded out this festive summer gathering.
Uncork & Unwind
As summer drew to a close, residents in our empty nesters Young at Heart social club came together for Uncork & Unwind. This lively social mixer was the perfect way to say goodbye to summer. Attendees brought their favorite Reds, Whites, and Rosé to set the tone for the evening, enjoying a relaxed and fun atmosphere that eased any end of summer blues.
Fall Events at Travisso
Harvest Fest
As the leaves turned, we welcomed the season with the annual Harvest Fest in October. The event featured a petting zoo, balloon twisting, face painting, and delicious options from the Crepe Crazy Food Truck. Residents snapped photos with a fall-themed backdrop, enjoyed free snow cones, and participated in fun games that celebrated the spirit of autumn.
Bollywood Bash
As the year continued on, so did the celebration! The Bollywood Bash brought a burst of energy and color to Travisso this year. Residents experienced lively cultural performances, danced the night away to a live DJ, and enjoyed a bustling vendor market filled with local Indian food and handcrafted products.
National Night Out at Travisso
In October, Travisso hosted our local first responders for National Night Out! This annual community event connects neighbors, law enforcement, and first responders to promote positive police-community partnerships.
Trunk or Treat
The 2024 Trunk-or-Treat at the Palazzo was a spooktacular celebration of community and creativity! Residents went all out, decking their car trunks with spooky decorations and creating a thrilling trick-or-treat experience for kids in their cutest and creepiest costumes.
Winter Events at Travisso
Diwali
Every year, Travisso celebrates Diwali, the Festival of Lights, usually with an event at the Palazzo play fields, which are filled with vibrant festivities and a sense of togetherness. Residents gathered to enjoy dazzling decorations, traditional music, and delicious food, honoring this beautiful five-day celebration.
Holiday in the Hills
The year ended on a magical note with Holiday in the Hills in December. Families gathered at the Toscana Room for a Winter Wonderland experience complete with a snow machine, photos with Santa, the Grinch, and Cindy Lou Who. Guests created ornament crafts, decorated cookies, and enjoyed s’mores and a hot cocoa bar to cap off a wonderful year of community togetherness.
Events for Every Season
At Travisso, several community events bring neighbors together throughout the year, creating connections and memorable experiences across all four seasons.
Health and wellness are a cornerstone of our vibrant lifestyle, with residents enjoying recurring fitness classes led by expert instructors. For those who love a little friendly competition, pickleball tournaments have become a regular highlight, while guided Hill Country hikes offer opportunities to explore the scenic beauty of our surroundings and connect with nature.
Club activities add to the sense of community, with everything from book clubs to game nights for all ages providing residents a chance to pursue their passions and meet like-minded neighbors. Movie Night Under the Stars happens periodically throughout the year, bringing families together for a cozy outdoor cinema experience. With blankets, popcorn, and favorite films on the big screen, it’s always a magical way to unwind under the Texas sky.
And what’s a great event without amazing food? Travisso’s food truck lineups are always a hit. Ernie’s They See Me Rollin’ Rolled Ice Cream Truck serves up sweet and creamy delights, Crepe Crazy Food Truck offers both savory and sweet creations, and Ray Ray’s Kitchen Food Truck ensures even vegan residents have plenty of flavorful options. These fan-favorite vendors are just the beginning of the delicious variety our events bring to the table.
