While the weather in Texas may be cooling down, Travisso September activities are heating up. Fun is in the air this September. Whether you are looking to fill up your days or relax on the weekends, Travisso activities and classes are a great way to stay in shape, try a new hobby and meet new neighbors and friends. From our outdoors Farmers’ Market to weekly food trucks to yoga and virtual book clubs, here’s a round-up of remaining activities happening this month. Let’s get moving.
Activities to Keep You Fit
Stretch and Tone – Tuesdays, and Thursdays, 8-9 a.m. at the Palazzo pavilion. Classes are limited to 10 residents. Participants must bring their own dumbbells. Masks and gloves are required to participate.
Water Aerobics – Tuesdays, Sept. 15, 22 and 29, 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Palazzo pool. Classes are limited to Travisso residents only. RSVP through the Travisso resident link. Masks must be worn for class. Reservations are allowed 48 hours in advance of class date/time. Maximum class size is 10 people.
Yoga – Fridays, Sept. 11, 18, 25 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Palazzo pavilion. Yoga is known to relieve stress. But did you know that it provides other health benefits. It can also increase your flexibility, strengthen and tone muscles, reduce weight and protect from injury. Maximum class size is 10 people. Participants must provide their own mat. Classes are complimentary. Registration is necessary and can be made up two days in advance through the Travisso resident link.
Activities for the Kiddos
Art Classes by Cordovan Art School – Age-appropriate instruction for kids in grades K-5 is taught on the first and third Fridays of the month. In this classroom environment art experience kids will learn a variety of mediums including watercolor, acrylic, pastels, colored pencils, pen & ink and much more. Session times and prices vary. Little Sunshine Singing Time – Wednesday mornings, Sept. 16, 23 and 30, 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Palazzo pavilion. Join Travisso resident and singer Maggie Moore for a sing-along music class. Kiddos and their adult partners will have a blast singing, dancing and shaking their sillies out. Registration is necessary.
School Pictures – Saturday, Sept. 12 and Sunday, Sept. 20 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Palazzo pavilion. Texas Touch Photography will be on-site to provide a unique opportunity to Travisso residents. Each session is 15 minutes in length and includes one digital image, 2 5x7s, and 8 wallet photos for $35. Please schedule your session in advance through the Travisso resident link.
Stunt Masters BMX Bike Parade – Friday, Sept. 25, 5-8 p.m. Stunt Masters Inc. is visiting Travisso and bringing their exciting BMX show with them. They’ll parade throughout the neighborhood and stop at pre-determined locations. A map of their parade route will be published closer to the event date.
Morning Coffee, Shopping, Take-out for Dinner
Coyote Moon Pop-up Coffee – Wednesdays, Sept. 16, 23, 30 from 7-10:30 a.m. Whether you are working from home or driving to the office, a cup of coffee is the only way to start your day. This local roaster hailing from Georgetown will be visiting Travisso and selling a variety of coffee options, cold brew and pastries from Russell’s Bakery.
Savory Farmers’ Market – Wednesdays, Sept. 16, 23, 30 from 3-7 p.m. under the pavilion at the Palazzo. This on-site market supports both local businesses and farmers. You’ll find a plethora of farm fresh vegetables and locally raised meats like pork, lamb, chicken and beef. Other delectable edibles include wild caught Alaskan seafood, local honey, artisan beef jerky, gourmet pastries and organic bakery goods too. While at the market grab a bite to eat at the on-site food truck.
Hungry Pop-up – Thursday, Sept. 10 at the Palazzo pavilion from 5-7 p.m. This week Hungry Pop-up features Chef Gil and his authentic Cajun bowls. The quick weeknight dinner option is the perfect remedy for busy families. For $12 per bowl you can choose from a variety of seasoned meats, white or dirty rice and toppings ranging from garlic red potatoes to collard green slaw.
Coffee+Crisp Breakfast Food Truck – Saturday, Sept. 12 in the Palazzo parking lot from 8-11 a.m. As a first-time vendor to Travisso’s newly created breakfast scene, Coffee+Crisp takes pride in selling delicious coffee and their signature crisps. Additional items on the menu include avocado toast, breads and sweet treats, and classic panini sandwiches.
Rosarito’s Food Truck – September, 22, 5-8 p.m. in the Palazzo parking lot. The best thing about Taco Tuesday is that Rosarito’s will be in the Travisso neighborhood. So why not take a break from cooking? Even the pickiest of eaters will find something they like when the choices are a taco, burrito or bowl. Choose a protein, fresh toppings and salsas for a custom-made meal.
Redfin Mobile Kitchen – September, 24, 4:30-7 p.m. in the Palazzo parking lot. Find your seafood happy place with Redfin Mobile Kitchen. They’ll be on-site at Travisso serving up a variety of delicious seafood specialties like Blackened Lime Shrimp Tacos, Fried Catfish Baskets, Gumbo and Po-Boy sandwiches.
Other Activities and Events
Kayaking and Paddle Boarding – Saturday, Sept. 19, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Mobile Kayak at Brushy Creek. The Travisso Adventure Club is planning a kayaking and paddling trip on Brushy Creek. The group will meet at the Mobile Kayak then head west after boarding the boats. Rates vary and range from $25-$35.
