Chocolate and cheesecake. These are two of my favorite things. So, it goes without saying that my favorite Christmas dessert Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake is a creative blend of the two.
This elegant, show-stopping dessert is easy to make and really packs a punch when it comes to the WOW factor. When I want to impress my guests I make this dessert. Even if you are not particularly fond of cheesecake, you will love this. Why? Because of its creamy light texture and decadent chocolate flavor. And, when all dressed up it has great eye-appeal. After all, we do eat with our eyes. If it looks good, it must taste good. Let’s just say, this recipe won’t disappoint.
But, what is really fun about making this dessert is that you can be creative and dress this recipe with a variety of toppings. However, the must and first topping on this dessert without a doubt needs to be Chantilly cream. The word “Chantilly” in this instance is just a fancy word for whipped cream. Pipe or spread the whipped cream on the finished cheesecake then add the finishing touches.
Just a few suggestions for holiday recipes include crushed peppermint candies for Christmas or green-colored chocolate mint candies for St. Patrick’s Day. You can even complement a Tex-Mex menu by sprinkling cinnamon on the top of the whipped cream. For the Fourth of July use red, white, and blue decorative sprinkles or candy-coated chocolate pieces. And, there’s so much more.
A few of my favorite finishing touches include chocolate shavings, raspberries, toasted coconut, salted caramel, almonds, and pistachios. You can also add a side of peanut butter or strawberry sauce or even create a Black Forest Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake. To make pipe cream around the edges, add a can of cherries in the middle, and shave chocolate on top. The versatility of this recipe allows for many wonderful flavor combinations. Now, that’s sweet!
