Winter Woodland Craft Day

Celebrate the season with us on the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve at our Winter Woodland craft day. Join us as we bring the forest to life with a variety of forest-themed activities, including a story walk, print making, nature jewelry, and the chance for kids to plant their very own tree! Each activity highlights the beauty of our woodland habitats, and tree planting will contribute restoring vital spaces for endangered species. This event is perfect for ages 3 and up, making it a cozy winter adventure for the whole family.
The event is “come and go as you please” and all supplies are provided, so feel free to bring a picnic lunch and a water bottle for a day of wintery fun in the woods. Our 1.5 mile Bunten trail, not usually open to the public, will also be available for those interested in hiking.

Astronomy Night on the Preserve

Enjoy a star-filled night on the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve. At this free family-friendly event, you’ll be guided to our viewing area in the meadow where you’ll have an opportunity to view the planets and stars through a high-powered telescope. All ages are welcome to join.
