It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood on Saturday, May 4 during the fourth annual Travisso Fest in the master-planned community of Travisso. Plenty of outdoor fun was on tap during the four-hour event as well as a ton of family-friendly activities. Travisso’s Marketing Manager Kathy Mayer said the Broadway hit musical Grease was this year’s inspiration for the nostalgic-inspired 50s theme. It also set the stage for some great live music and dancing, too.
Music filled the air and was provided by two of the Austin area’s favorite cover bands. Under the pavilion at the Palazzo guests jumped, jived, and danced away the afternoon. A variety of well-known rock and roll favorites were played by Danny B. Harvey & the Devil’s Daughters. The three-piece band combo anchored by vocals Mysti Moon and Anne Lewis came alive when Danny B. Harvey took the stage. His Rockabilly guitar playing is truly legendary. And, as one of the area’s favorite pop/funk bands AJ Vallejo’s SouthTown Band performed a variety of favs. Hits its from musical artists like Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, and the Beatles rocked the Travisso stage.
There was much more including a special appearance by Darth Vader, with hearty May the 4th be with you wishes. Craft beer from nearby local brew pub Whitestone Brewery. Ice cream, popcorn, and root beer floats, too. Kids enjoyed balloons, carnival rides and Games2U mobile entertainment. And, were able to pet and coddle some furry friends from Tiny Tails to You petting zoo. The traveling zoo offered both kids and parents the opportunity to get up-close and friendly with adorable miniature chickens, guinea pigs, and rabbits.
