Fall into Fitness with Classes and Activities at Travisso

Ready, set, take a deep breath and fall into fitness! After all, it’s fall y’all and with a chill in the air it’s the perfect time to breathe new life into your daily workout. Or, you can start a new one. Though Central Texas summers can linger well into fall, this year we’re getting an early reprieve from 90 degree days. With temperatures in the 80s now’s the time to take advantage of the cooler weather and feel great doing it. While temperatures are dropping fitness classes and activities at Travisso are sizzling hot. To keep your fitness goals on the fast track, check out these Travisso group classes and outdoor activities. We guarantee they’ll keep you fit and get you moving! Let’s get physical.

Attend a Group Fitness Class

Stretch and tone is a low-impact, low-intensity workout that tones muscles, increases flexibility and helps to relieve stress. There are two sessions. The first one meets on Mondays and Saturdays, 9-10 a.m. The other session meets on Tuesday and Thursdays, 8-9 a.m. Both sessions meet at the Palazzo. In this class you’ll do a series of exercises that combines cardio and weights to target specific muscle groups and build core strength. For maximum results participants should bring a set of dumbbells and a mat to class. Class size is limited to 10 people. Play a Game of Tennis

Located adjacent to the Palazzo, Travisso’s lighted tennis courts are a great early morning, afternoon or evening workout. Whether you play a game of singles or doubles, this rigorous exercise works the entire body from head to toe. It’s also great for your heart, helps control body fat, and improves balance and flexibility. But, that’s not all. This physically active game tones muscles and stimulates the brain, too. Reservations are necessary to enjoy the tennis courts.

Relax in Yoga Class

Find balance, reduce stress and strengthen your inner core with yoga. The one-hour class emphasizes body alignment, breathing techniques and flexibility for all fitness levels. It meets on Fridays at 8:30 a.m. at the Palazzo pavilion. Long-lasting results include increased mobility, strong muscles, improved posture and a more sleek body. Classes are limited to 10 participants. Sign-ups are allowed two days prior to the start of the class.

Trail It

Whether you like to hike, bike, run, or walk Travisso trails offer over 10 miles of pathways to keep your fitness goals on course. Not only are the trails a great way to explore the community, they’re also home to a variety of native plants and birds too. Schedule a daily fitness walk with a nearby neighbor and let the fun begin.

Zumba Fun for Everyone

t’s party time! Zumba’s Latin-inspired roots are the perfect combo of fun and fitness. Time will fly by while you have a blast dancing with friends and burning hundreds of calories. Classes meet on Thursday evenings from 6-7 p.m. and runs through Nov. 19 at the Palazzo pavilion. You’ll have so much fun you won’t want it to end.
